Georgia Swarm Takes on Toronto May 20 at Infinite Energy Center

Georgia Swarm Lacrosse

There is nothing quite like the feeling you get when you are cheering on your home state in a playoff or championship game, and Georgia readers, you have got one incredible opportunity coming to our area Saturday, May 20! Come and be apart of the “swarm” that is going to take over the Infinite Energy Center for the Lacrosse East Division Finals. The Georgia Swarm will take on Toronto, and you are going to want to be there!

Well-known for being VERY family friendly and recently featured as one of the “Top 10 Things to Do in Gwinnett” by the Atlanta Journal & Constitution, the Georgia Swarm has action-packed, high-scoring games.  They even feature music all game long, and you don’t want to miss their popular goal dance that fans of all ages participate in!

Professional Indoor Lacrosse resembles hockey with its gameplay, and basketball with pick-and-rolls, and a 30-second shot clock. It’s called “The Fastest Game on Two Feet!” In their second season in Atlanta, they finished with the #1 record in the league at 13-5, and have the #1 overall playoff seed, which gives them home field advantage throughout the postseason. Second-year forward and NIKE endorsed athlete, Lyle Thompson, collected the league’s scoring title with 116 points (45 Goals and 71 Assists) and broke almost every team scoring record. He will likely be the MVP of the league, and was recently featured on Sports Center’s Top 10 plays and their social media.

To begin the playoffs, they will be on the road the weekend of May 12-14 at Toronto or New England and then host Game 2 at home on Saturday, May 20th at 7:05pm. If the series is tied 1-1 after the two games, we will play a 10-minute mini-game to decide the winner of the series. This mini-game would take place right after Game 2 on our field, and both teams would head back to the locker room after Game 2 for a brief break before coming back out. The winner of this game will advance to the NLL Championship Series, which is a Best-of-3 series that will take place late May and early June!

The Georgia Swarm is in the midst of a very exciting time as they’re looking to bring a World Championship to Atlanta! We want to invite you to come out and support our very own National League Lacrosse team the Georgia Swarm at their first-ever Home Playoff Game on Saturday, May 20th at 7:05PM at Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth.  Parking is FREE!

Tickets can be purchased here.

We hope to see you there!
