Junior Knight Training 1

Medieval Times has an awesome reputation for being family friendly. They want everyone to enjoy themselves and be part of the story.  Medieval Times is a FUN family centered attraction.  Everyone in the family can enjoy it from the kids to the grandparents!  We have had the opportunity to visit here on several occasions, and we always leave highly satisfied!

Upon entering the castle, your family is assigned a knight to cheer for!  Paper crowns are given for you to wear and your family’s picture is taken with some of the characters in the show.  These pictures are later available for purchase if you choose to do so and they are placed in a beautiful Medieval Times commemorative keepsake book.

Once inside you are able to enjoy the castle. There is a great fireplace with a roaring fire where you can sit and relax before the doors to the arena open.  You can also view lots of different things including weapons, suits of armor, Medieval artifacts, a live bird display and the dungeon.

To start the show the Lord Chancellor gathers the crowd before the throne and guests are directed by the Knight’s color to their seats. When the doors open, it is somewhat of a mad dash inside.  Do not worry about running in to get the best seat!  When you enter the castle, tables are assigned.  Just check out your “table” number on the card that was provided.  We have been blessed to receive table 1 each time we have visited.  Although I do think it is important to tell you that honestly EVERY table is excellent in that arena and I am not kidding!

Included in the price of the show is a 4 course, utensilfree meal. This is served during the show, so you are entertained as you eat.. You are served by “wenches” and “serfs” that are terrific! They are very efficient and remain in character, answering every request with “Yes, my Lord“, or “As My Lady wishes“. The menu is definitely “fit for a king!”   It includes pureed tomato soup, garlic bread, roasted chicken half, BBQ rib, half a potato, & an apple pastry along with beverages. There is a vegetarian option available upon request.  They even provide warm wet-wipes after the meal to clean up hands and faces!

The show provides heart pounding entertainment, exciting music, beautiful costumes, dramatic lighting, fighting and of course, knights and horses!  The show delivers audience favorites such as live jousting and sword fights with authentic weaponry and enhanced armor.  You will certainly leave this place with a feeling of joy and planning your next visit!

If you are looking for ways to keep your children happy and engaged this Spring Break, then look no further than Medieval Times.

Creatively gifted with a resilient spirit, college student Chloe Moray (Ramos) finds solace from a difficult childhood in her art. But when a terrifying dream begins to recur night after night, Chloe starts to believe that it might be a suppressed memory and that she may be connected to the strange disappearance of a teenage girl twelve years earlier. Her search to find the answers sends her on a journey that forces Chloe to confront her own past traumas, while at the same time, helps her unlock a mystery that may bring a killer to justice.

WILDFLOWER is a powerful reminder that hope can be found even in the darkest, loneliest moments.

WILDFLOWER offers message of hope for those going through trials – “You’re not alone”

Importance of staying connected and involved in the lives of your kids

“Sometimes you have to risk everything to finally be set free.”

Every one of us will experience times in our lives where we just don’t get it.  We ask ourselves questions about why this or that happens.  How many times have you screamed out to God, “WHY ME?!” This movie showcases that despair and how God shows up!  It is a reminder that there is hope in the darkest parts of our world even when we feel all hope is lost!  This movie grabs you and reels you in.  It is captivating and quite the thriller.  It is rated PG13 and I would recommend that parents view it for themselves to determine whether or not they want their 13 year old to view it.  The subject matter is difficult.

Cirque du Soleil presents KURIOS at Atlantic Station

When my oldest graduated from high school and went off to college, I quickly realized just how much I had not done with him or my younger babies.  I realized that we had missed out on many opportunities to show our kids the world of arts.  Of course we did lots of things like vacationing at the beach, traveling to the mountains, going to lots of sporting events, and many kid friendly events like Chuck E Cheese and more.  Unfortunately, taking time to let them experience all the different types of art was something we missed.  In an effort to expose my children to everything I could, we started going to the art museums, botanical gardens, symphonies, and theaters.  One of our favorites, hands down, would have to be the Cirque du Soleil shows.  They are absolutely stunning and something that everyone, kids included, should experience!  No two shows are alike.

In an alternate yet familiar past, in a place where wonders abound for those who trust their imagination, a Seeker discovers that in order to glimpse the marvels that lie just below the surface, we must rst learn to close our eyes. In his larger-than-life curio cabinet, the Seeker is convinced that there exists a hidden, invisible world – a place where the craziest ideas and the grandest dreams await. A collection of otherworldly characters suddenly steps into his makeshift mechanical world. When the outlandish, benevolent characters turn his world upside down with a touch of poetry and humor in an attempt to ignite the Seeker’s imagination, his curios jump to life one by one before his very eyes.
What if by engaging our imagination and opening our minds we could unlock the door to a world of wonders?

KURIOS™ – Cabinet of Curiosities is Cirque du Soleil’s 35th production since 1984.
Cabinets of curiosities are the ancestors of museums, also known as cabinet of wonder in the Renaissance Europe. Aristocrats, members of the merchant class and early practitioners of science formed collections of historical relics, works of
art or mysterious travel souvenirs or artefacts.
KURIOS™ – Cabinet of Curiosities has a cast of 46 artists from 15 different countries.
About 60% of the artists have already worked with Cirque du Soleil before.
10 Curious Facts About the Show

To make the Accordion Man’s attire, the costume-maker spent an entire week sewing inside the costume.

Antanina Satsura, the artist who plays Mini Lili, is 3.2 feet tall and weighs 39 pounds. She is one of the 10 smallest people in the world.

The mechanical hand weighs 750 pounds and measures 15 feet by 6.8 feet.

More than a hundred costumes were created to dress the cast of KURIOS.

There are 426 props in the show, the most of any production in Cirque du Soleil’s history.

Some 65 trucks transport close to 2,000 tons of equipment for KURIOS™ – Cabinet of Curiosities.

The 116 tour members come from 22 different countries. Some have been touring with Cirque du Soleil for more than 20 years.

This is the first time that Cirque du Soleil presents a welcoming act on top of the big top before the show starts. When weather permits, 3 artists climb up the big top and greet the guests from above while playing music and acting. Guests get a taste of the KURIOS experience as soon as they enter the site.

It took the team of props makers approximately 250 hours to build Mr. Microcosmos’ round belly.

All performers are responsible for applying their own make-up every show, which can take them between 40 minutes to two hours.
