Women of Faith in theaters

It is not easy to be a parent today.  Things are so different from when you probably grew up.  Everything is so fast paced.  People want instant gratification and our children are no different.  They have not really had to learn many of the lessons we have as children such as waiting for an answer.  Today all you have to do is have some form of technology and you literally have the world at your fingertips.
As a mother of two boys and someone that had to take in two m ore children, my life can be hectic.  There are many days when I wonder just how I am going to make it.  I just want time and things to slow down like they were for me many years ago.  I want things to be somewhat simplistic.  In a day and age when we want to keep up with the Jones, and we want to post to the world a picture perfect family.  I know I have been guilty of that!  I don’t want people to know my deep dark secrets. You know the times when I cry myself to sleep just wondering if I have done enough.  Have I made a difference?  Do they know I love them?
Parenthood is just one small part of my life.  As a married woman I also face the same challenges wondering if I am measuring up to that imaginary standard I have set for myself in regards to being a wife.  I am blessed to have married someone that loves me for who I am.  He accepts and loves me unconditionally.  I do know that, but I allow myself to get trapped by that little devil that will come and enter my thoughts.  He likes to tell me you are not good enough.

As a woman of faith, I know the importance of engaging and learning from women that share my beliefs and experience trials and burdens.  A few years ago I was invited by a friend to attend the Women of Faith conference that had come to Atlanta. I was kind of reluctant at first.  I had to ride with complete strangers to this event and stay with people I did not know.  I considered backing out of it but something was gnawing at me telling me to go.  Of course, I should I have figured out that it was my Heavenly Father guiding my path like He always does.  So I tucked away my fears and took the plunge!  This was such an incredible experience.  Little did I know that I would get the inspiration and encouragement I needed from this conference to know that I was not alone!  What I found to be so empowering is that the  women and stories were so relate-able.  It did not matter who took the stage, famous people or not, everyone shared their true experiences.  Each person that got up there was so real and genuine and spoke to the power of our Heavenly Father.  They spoke of what I so needed to remember, grace!  That no matter what I have done, my Father loves me dearly and accepts me.  There is NOTHING I have done that would turn His gaze from me!

What Women of Faith believe:

The Bible is the inspired word of God and is true.   2 Timothy 3:16-17

There is only one true God, existing as three Persons in one: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Spirit (The Holy Spirit).   2 Corinthians 13:14, John 1:1-5, 1 John 5:7-8

Salvation is found only through Jesus Christ.  Romans 10:9-10, John 1:12

The greatest command is to love God and love one another.  Matthew 22:36-40

Now Women of Faith is coming to the big screen nationwide.  I want to encourage you to grab some girlfriends and go-no run to the theater.  We all experience the challenges that this world brings.  Take some time for YOU and refresh!  You will find the power to persevere and find joy and satisfaction in the roles God has placed you in.

From Women of Faith

. . . because He created so many of us and each one is unique. All of this wonderful diversity means we hold a variety of views. At Women of Faith, we focus on what unites us. We want to offer grace to one another. We’re here to laugh with you, cry with you, and walk beside you on your faith journey. If you have a relationship with God, we want to encourage you to deepen it. If you’re not in that place right now, we’d like to introduce you to Someone who loves you more than you know. You may choose to know Him better through His Son Jesus (we hope you will) but it’s your decision. We will love you either way. Some of our speakers are Bible teachers who share truths they’ve found in the Scriptures. Some share their own unvarnished faith stories with courage and transparency. If something you hear at Women of Faith makes you think, pray, discuss, and dig into the Bible to examine what you believe and why you believe it, we’ve fulfilled our purpose. The bottom line is this: God loves us. All of us. And He wants us to love each other.
