The Teal Pumpkin Project

Have you heard of the Teal Pumpkin Project?  If you have been on social media outlets, you have probably come across the beautiful picture of  a teal pumpkin.

If you have a child with allergies,  Halloween is probably a stressful time for you.  I can’t even begin to imagine the frustration and anxiety associated with worrying about whether the hidden ingredients of the candies placed in your child’s Halloween bags.   Even kids with dietary restrictions suffer during this holiday tradition.

The FARE’s (Food Allergy and Research Education) Teal Pumpkin Project™ is a wonderful campaign that I support and I hope you will too! The Teal Pumpkin Project™ raises awareness of food allergies and promotes a safer, happier Halloween by encouraging households to make non-food treats available so that trick-or-treaters who need to avoid candy – due to food allergies or other reasons – can fully participate. Households can show they are participating by placing a teal pumpkin in front of their home.

Last year, households from 50 states and 7 countries participated in the Teal Pumpkin Project™. This year, you can be part of an even bigger movement! Visit to join 100,000 households pledging to participate in the Teal Pumpkin Project™.

This is such a good idea to help with kids knowing if they have candy at the house that is for kids with allergies and they will know with this awesome teal pumpkin. I will have to do this!

This is a great idea we don’t get trick or treaters at all, so I can’t do this, but good to know. It is the first I’ve ever heard of it!!
