My family loves to eat and loves to go to shows! Who doesn’t? When you are Pigeon Forge you have a wide variety of dinner shows to choose from. One of our favorites was the unique experience at Hatfield & McCoy. Once you arrive at this attraction you know you are in store for a treat.
From oddly funny settings as pictured above to the critters, the outside of the building is inviting and lets you know you are in for some fun once you go through those doors!
As with all dinner shows, it is a good idea to arrive nearly 45 minutes early. Of course you have the opportunity to have a photo op. We esp. liked this one because it had PROPS! My kids loved this as one quickly grabbed the moonshine jug and the other grabbed the rifle to hold. We knew from that moment that we were right where we belonged. I felt like I was at home with the family.
You begin your adventure by being assigned to either the Hatfield or McCoy camp. Once seated your friendly wait staff starts bringing in the good ole Southern cookin, family style, all you can eat, finger licking food!
You begin with possum soup (Southern style creamy soup) and Ma’s hot homemade bread. Following that small pots of comforting southern food is brought to your table by your wait staff. You are served Feudin’ Fried Chicken, Open Pit Pulled -to-Pieces Pork Barbeque, Smashed Mashed Taters, Buttery Corn on the Cob, and No Tellin’ What’s In It Coleslaw.
The best part about this is it is all you can eat. Not many dinner shows can boast this! All of the food was delicious and we were quite stuffed when our waitress was back with Granny’s Famous Specialty Dessert! They even offer some moonshine for purchase. We bought the strawberry lemonade flavor and really enjoyed it!
After dinner, the fun continues as you are immersed right into the middle of the Hatfield & McCoy feud.
The Mayor hires a new sheriff to keep the peace and as soon as the Hatfield’s & McCoy’s see one another, the feuding begins.
It is an extremely lively show that includes a variety of dancing, singing, and bluegrass music.
Of course I do not want to give away the show but it is very entertaining.
If you are planning a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains, this is a show you do not want to miss! You can reserve your tickets ahead of time, which would be a great idea since they are always packed! They offer a show at 5 and another at 8.
On their website you can also find an excellent deal. They have four sister shows that you can add on to your ticket for just $14.95 for each adults and kids are free. This is really a great deal! You can choose between the Smoky Mountain Opry, Blackwoods Morning Variety Show, Magic Beyond Belief and The Comedy Barn.
