Three stories filled with more than 500 exhibits, artifacts, and oddities from around the world. Ripley’s Odditorium is perfect fusion of edutainment and interactivity, with a generous sprinkling of “Shut The Front Door!”
When you go to Gatlinburg you will find a variety of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not attractions. One of our favorites is the Ripley’s Odditorium.
We have always been a fan of the television shows and the books.
Ripley’s Believe It or Not was founded in 1918 by cartoonist, adventurer, explorer, reporter, and collector Robert Ripley. In a span of 35 years Ripley traveled to 201 countries searching for the odd, unusual, and unexplained. Nicknamed “The Modern Marco Polo,” Ripley brought the strange and unusual to people. The Ripley’s Believe It Or Not located in Gatlinburg is a family friendly attraction. Of course you will see galleries of the weird, strange, and bizarre!
After all, it is a Ripley’s Odditorium! You will see unusual creations and things you have probably only seen on television or read in books such as vampire killing kits, shrunken heads, etc…
There are plenty of engaging, hands-on activities for you here. One of the things my son enjoyed was creating this well known character on the giant Lite Brite set.
