iCustomLabel Baby Month Stickers

When I first became a mom you just had to keep up with things in a baby book.  Oh there were plenty of types of baby books out there to choose from but that was about all.  When I had my second child scrapbooking was all the rage!  I had my share of baby print pages, stickers, albums, etc..  The only time I did not have enough of was time to invest in creating these priceless memory books.

Now that we are expecting a bundle of joy in October we get to experience the newest rage — taking pictures every month to show growth.  Now I must say I really LOVE this idea and really wish someone had thought of it a long time ago!  Perhaps there were some scrap-booking mamas out there that thought to do this but I sure didn’t.  Plus, the more kids you have the less likely you are to take pictures.  Well, that is not exactly true either!  In today’s social media world you can literally create your own photographic scrapbook of your life.

If this is not your style, iCustomLabel has a variety of labels to suit your needs.  The cool thing about this is product is they are stickers.  That means you do not have to buy a special outfit to take that precious photo in.  Instead, invest in the stickers and apply to your baby’s outfit.

I love the watercolor baby month stickers from iCustomLabel that is featured above.  I think they are bright and cheery.

iCustomLabel offers more than just baby month stickers.  They offer a variety of labels/stickers for just about every thing you can think of.  Check them out!

An ideal companion product for Duck Dynasty fans, outdoor enthusiasts, and those who want to grow in their faith, Duck Commander Devotions for Kids is certain to inspire little ones in their faith journey.

My Review

I really liked this devotional book for kids.  The stories used in the devotion are short and sweet and will hold the attention of children.  Colorful illustrations accompany each devotion.  What I really liked was the Duck Commander in Action section.  This section of each devotion helps the child to come up with a plan of action to follow through with what God has asked them to do.

I highly recommend this book for children and with Easter rapidly approaching, this would make a great item for an Easter basket.

Throw Away the Paper Cupcake Liners!

Anyone that knows me well knows that the kitchen is not a place I like to be in!  Cooking and baking just are not my thing!  When asked to bring in things for a get together, I am the one that gets assigned juice or paper products.

Recently I was given the opportunity to review The Simple Baker’s Silicone Baking Cups.  I had a tye dye cake mix and a reason to celebrate so I thought I would give them a try!

After getting my batter ready I took out the baking cups and placed them in the muffin tin.  They were easy to take apart and place in the container.  It also extremely easy to pour the mix into the containers.  In the past with paper liners I would have to flatten them out or make sure they stayed open for the batter to be poured in.The silicone baking cups hold their shape while baking.

After they were done baking, I took them out and was pleased to see how nice the cupcakes turned out!  What was even better was how EASY it was to remove the cupcake from the silicone liner.  As you can see from my picture below, no mess was left behind!  Cleaning them was easy.  I simply washed them out with a soapy sponge and let them sit out to dry.

Premium Simple Baker silicone baking cups are BPA Free and made with eco-friendly silicone.

100% Pure food grade silicone cups are non-stick, stain resistant, and dishwasher safe.

Baking cup set comes in 6 vibrant colors – pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple – 4 cups of each color – 24 total.

Cups are heat resistant to 475°, and each cup measures 2-5/8 inch in diameter by 1.25 inch tall and holds 2.5 fluid ounces.

Produced by the same trusted brand that created the popular premium macaron baking mat.

Available in 6 vibrant colors (pink, orange, yellow, blue and purple), these silicone liners are sure to please!

Shine Bright Kids presents Whatever Wanda

“We all need a daily checkup from the neck up to avoid stinkin’,

which ultimately leads to hardening of the attitudes.”

Zig Ziglar

Author: Christy Ziglar

Illustrator: Paige Billin-Frye

Recommended for Ages: 4 to 8

Christy Ziglar has done it again!  I loved reading Whatever Wanda with my kiddos and having a great conversation about what it means to have an attitude adjustment!  I can’t even begin to tell you how many times I have experienced hearing (or even thinking myself at times):

Oh, this is boring!

Do I have to go?

This is going to be a waste of my time.

As a teacher and mother, I am always on the lookout for picture books that are quick to read aloud and discuss.  I love finding treasures such as the Shine Bright Kids series because they provide me with a unique way to help teach character traits.  Providing students and children with meaningful interactions about making good decisions is important to me both in the classroom and out.  Whatever Wanda was a perfect fit.  Helping kids to learn how to stay positive is not always easy; however, Whatever Wanda provided a meaningful look at the impact it has on us when we take on an attitude of “Whatever” in the things we do.  Nearly everyone can relate to this story!

Another unique feature of this series is Ziggy Star.  Throughout the book there is a little star named Ziggy that children search for on each page. The star interacts with the text as Wanda makes good and bad decisions.  This a great tool for parents and teachers to use to discuss.

About the Author:
Christy Ziglar, financial planner, mother of twins, and niece of legendary motivator and the world’s original optimist, Zig Ziglar, is bringing the same timeless wisdom and ageless advice to an entirely new, younger audience through her new Shine Bright Kids picture book series. Christy, her husband, and their twins live in Atlanta, Georgia.
About the Book:
32 pages
Wanda is in serious need of an attitude adjustment!  She doesn’t want to accompany her family to the Rubber Duck Days Festival, and once there, she won’t participate in any of the events or join in with her friends.  Soon Wanda receives some helpful advice and learns that:
“Sometimes you have to believe something will be great before it actually is.  Being positive is a choice that makes everything better, not to mention, a while lot more fun!”
FullSizeRender (1)
Whatever Wanda, is the third title in the Shine Bright Kids series! The Shine Bright Kids series provides children and their families with the tools to teach the importance of making good choices. The series explores such topics as: using good judgment, taking responsibility, having a positive attitude, and demonstrating perseverance.

you’ll see fun is everywhere!”

Jesus Sees Us Doll and Book Review

In a world that has Elves on the Shelves, Roaming Reindeers, Silly McGilly (St. Patrick’s Day), Switchcrafted (Halloween), wouldn’t it be great to have a doll that promotes the values your family has.  Imagine if our children took the same interest and wonder in Jesus and the Christian message as they did in princesses, fairies, and elves… Jesus Sees Us is a packaged Jesus Christ doll that has the same comforting power as a child’s favorite toy or blanket, but is rooted in lessons that last a lifetime. Children respond to the comfort of tangible items when they are young, so why not make that item Jesus and the comfort He gives to ignite their faith? The accompanying book is a tool to assist you in engaging your child and starting the conversation about Jesus’ teachings.

Jesus Sees Us, created by two mothers of preschool-ages children looking for an engaging and relatable way to introduce Jesus and their Faith to their children, is a great teaching tool for any Christian parent searching for fun ways to share the love of Christ with their children.  With Easter rapidly approaching, this would be a great addition to any Easter basket.  The doll is the perfect size for small children and can easily be snuggled with.  Your child will develop his or her own faith in Christ as you read through and discuss the ten lessons contained in the Jesus Sees Us book.  I know I can’t wait to see the expression in the eyes of little ones when they see this doll!  As a parent, I imagine that this will be a go to doll.  Imagine this being a tangible item that he or she can hold onto while they learn about the love that Christ has for them!  So often we, Christian parents, try to instill in our kids the idea of “giving it to God.”  This such a hard concept for children to grasp (much less adults).  When I see this doll I can’t help but see something that can be their way of “giving it to God.” Something that they can talk to and cry to!  Something that that can share their feelings and thoughts with.

About the doll:
Appropriate for Ages 2-6
By the time a child turns three years old, he or she already has the capability to relate to Jesus. Children can understand that, like them, Jesus was a baby with parents who loved Him. They can understand that Jesus grew up to be a man who loved everyone and taught people to do the same. Children become excited and inquisitive when they can master these facts, ultimately making them more open to deeper conversations and ideas about faith.

The Jesus Sees Us doll is an integral part of fostering your child’s initial introduction to Jesus.
Even though we talk to our children about Jesus or take them to Sunday services, they are not always able to understand the importance of the Christian message. Jesus Sees Us is a tool that makes Jesus, His teachings, and the concept of faith both relatable and positive to young children by introducing Him as the loving and forgiving presence in our lives. The doll becomes the tangible connection to the stories and lessons in the book. He is the touchable source of comfort that a child can relate to. The Jesus Sees Us doll has a soft body and a warm, welcoming face. His arms and hands are open, inviting your child to hold him, engage with him, and pray with him. The Jesus Sees Us doll allows your child to “play out” the valuable and timeless lessons of the Bible.
