Earth to Echo – MUST SEE Family Movie

I had the opportunity to see an early screening of an upcoming movie called Earth to Echo June 3 at Regal Atlantic Station.   I honestly had not heard of the film other than some Facbeook posts I saw floating around saying that Relativity, the movie company, wanted people to vote for a poster and your child’s school could win money.  So, the teacher in me went online to vote and they certainly had my interest from point on.  (Contest has since ended)

When I mentioned to my children that we were going to see Earth to Echo, I was met with excitement!  My kids had seen the commercials and trailers of the movie for the past weeks and were really eager to see it.  I had no idea but I sure did make them happy with my news.  To sweeten the deal even more I told them that we would also get to see Andrew Panay, the producer, and Astro (actor Brian Bradley), one of the main characters in the story, the night of the movie screening! Looks of “You are kidding right?” swept across their faces.  Us?  See real stars?  You’re joking!

The night of the premiere came and it delivered more than I had bargained for.  I was completely blown away by the movie and was even crying in some parts! The movie was full of emotion and action from start to finish.  The story line is not just about an adorable little alien named Echo; but also, it is a sweet story of the bonds of friendship.  Families will not be disappointed with this film and it’s message.

Our adventure did not stop at the movie screening.  The following day we were able to attend a special Q&A session at Fernbank Science Center with Panay and Astro.  The Fernbank Science Center welcomed the stars to their planetarium to speak to guests. First we had the opportunity to see Google’s Back to the Moon For Good full dome planetarium show.  Afterwards the stars joined the guests to answer questions.  Since this is the first event of this kind I had been to, I had no idea what to expect.  I was surprisingly pleased with how the Q&A went.  Both stars were in-tune to their audience and engaged the audience with their fun personalities.  It was nice to see that Panay was promoting that you should never give up on your dreams!  He spoke about how our dreams can turn into movies and to always keep trying!  Astro, Brian Bradley, spoke about how he began in acting and encouraged parents and children to start early and keep believing in yourself.  Our adventures with Earth to Echo concluded with an autograph session.  The gentleman were extremely polite and allowed guests to snap pictures with them.

Earth to Echo comes out July 2 and it is a MUST SEE!  Make sure you make plans to support this family friendly film.  Hollywood needs to continue to make movies that appeal to families and have messages that our youth (and adults) can learn from.  In today’s age of technology we have become self obsessed and can easily lose out on the bonds of friendship if we are not careful.  It is also important, which the movie clearly shows and supports, that each of us in unique and we should be valued and accepted.  You will not be disappointed.  My family will be back!
