A Celebration of Atlanta’s Historic Sites
Commemorating the Sesquicentennial of the Civil War, The Atlanta Preservation Center is once again hosting its The Phoenix Flies event. Thanks to the contributions of many, you will have the opportunity to explore Atlanta’s rich history by visiting many of our beautiful city’s historical landmarks. This event takes place March 8-23, 2014 with walking and bicycle tours, exhibits, hands on children’s activities and visual and performing arts. LP Grant Mansion, Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, Piedmont Park, Wren’s Nest, The Glenn Hotel, and the Sweet Auburn Curb Market are among some of the featured venues for this year’s event.
If you are like me and enjoy visiting Atlanta’s landmarks, this is certainly something you will want to check out! Check the website later this month to see an accurate listing of what will be available and on what days. These events are free thanks to the contributions of many but you will want to act fast as some require an RSVP. I am looking forward to checking on several of these myself. I hope to see you there!
