Larry, Carols, and Mo!

Larry, Carols, and Mo!

What on Earth?  This is something you might ask.  Sounds like it could be related to the Three Stooges!  Not exactly!   At least that is what came to my mind the first time I heard it last year.

The Fox Theatre in Atlanta hosts this FREE holiday evening every year.  As a longtime resident of Atlanta, it is a shame that I never knew of this event until last year after it occurred as a matter of fact!  My friends had heard of it and had been several times before…but me, not once!

Larry, Carols & Mo will be held Monday, December 9th at 7 PM at the Fox Theatre.  My family will load up the car and head downtown for what we know will be a magical evening of fun!

Upon arrival to the Fox Theatre, snow will be falling on Peachtree Street from the Fox Theatre’s marquee!  It is rumored that Santa will be there too!

The event begins with a Christmas carol sing-a-long with the famous “Mighty Mo” organ led by organist in residence Larry Douglas Embury, hence the three names in the title of the event.  Other performers included the Gwinnett Young Singers and Variety Stars of Tomorrow.  Following the sing-a-long and performances, the holiday classic “A Christmas Story”, celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year, was shown.

I strongly urge you to purchase your tickets if you have not done so already or be on the lookout next year for this event!  It happens each year at the beginning of December so check for information at the beginning of November.  Tickets are FREE if you get them from the Box Office or they can be ordered online with a small service fee per ticket (2.50).

If you enjoy singing Christmas carols and watching the classic “A Christmas Story,” then this is the event for you.  I know my family is looking forward to going and returning for years to come!
